Welcome to the Surfer’s Path 10k & 5k. This event covers a portion of the epic Surfer’s Path Marathon & Capitola Half Marathon course. The distance is reduced but the scenery remains breathtaking! Participants are treated to beachfront and bluff views of the Monterey Bay along the majestic Santa Cruz County coastline. You travel the Surfer’s Path, passing many of the world’s most famous surf breaks. There is plenty of surf music and celebration at the finish area located in the heart of Capitola Village. Grab some friends and take part in this event and make memories in this picture postcard setting. Surfs Up!

8:00am: 10k
8:10am: 5k

Race Info:

Start Location: The Start Line is located on 41st Ave near the intersection of Portola Drive at 816 41st Ave Santa Cruz 95062.

Finish Line: The Finish Line is located at the corner of Esplanade and San Jose Ave, at 203 Esplanade in Capitola Village.

10k
The Surfer’s Path 10k consists of a 6.2 mile run/walk. The event starts on 41st Ave at the gateway to Pleasure Point where surf shops, restaurants and the nearby coast merge to create the regions famous surf culture. The course enters onto scenic East Cliff Drive, offering sweeping views of the Monterey Bay. Participants continue on East Cliff until they view the Harbor Lighthouse and reach the turn around located at Twin Lakes Beach. Following the turn around, participants travel back, passing beaches and famous surf breaks as they continue to the finish line located in the heart of Capitola Village.

Course Management
The course is managed at a 20 minute per mile pace. If you are passed by the event crew, you will be asked to move onto the sidewalk. Once you are on the sidewalk, you must follow all traffic laws deemed by the County of Santa Cruz and City of Capitola.

5k
The Surfer’s Path 5k consists of a 3.1 mile run/walk. The event starts on 41st Ave at the gateway to Pleasure Point where surf shops, restaurants and the nearby coast merge to create the regions famous surf culture. The course enters onto scenic East Cliff Drive, offering sweeping views of the Monterey Bay. Participants continue on East Cliff to the turn around at the end of Pleasure Point. Following the turn around, participants travel back past world renowned surf breaks such as 1st Peak, 2nd Peak, Oneill’s House, 38th and the Hook as they continue toward the finish line located in the heart of Capitola Village.

Course Management
The course is managed at a 20 minute per mile pace. Strollers are welcome but must start at the back.

Medals & Awards:

Each finisher will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal at the finish line.
Awards will be provided to the top three over-all male and female finishers.
