NYRR Midnight Run
Tuesday, Dec 31, 2024
Central Park West and 72nd St and 72nd St and 5th Avenue

Cheers to 2025! Get a running start to the new year with your first race of 2025 at the NYRR Midnight Run! Join us as we celebrate 2024 and get excited to set your New Year’s resolutions as you cross the finish line in Central Park. The countdown to 2025 begins at 11:59 p.m., and at the stroke of midnight, a fireworks display will light up the night sky and kick off the start of the 4-mile race!

Though fireworks are a tradition of Midnight Run, the fireworks display at midnight is subject to weather conditions.

Make sure your NYRR membership is active for this final race of the 2024 9+1 program to earn guaranteed entry to the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon. Congratulations to all those ringing the 9+1 bell as they ring in the new year!

The souvenir for this race will be a New Balance long-sleeved tech T-shirt.

There are two entrance points for runners, volunteers, staff and their guests (if given a wristband at bib pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER). Security screening will be conducted at Central Park West & 72nd St and 72nd St & 5th Ave starting at 9:00 p.m. Please review the prohibited items list to see what you can and cannot bring into the park.

ONLY participants with valid bibs, wrist-banded guests, or credentialed personnel may enter at NYRR security checkpoints. General public is not permitted to enter at NYRR’s 72nd Street security checkpoints.
