Start the New Year running as far as you can or as little as you want. Sign up individually or as a team! The course is a 1.0 mile loop around Cottonwood Lake in popular Hellyer Park. USATF course certification (CA23033TEB).

Course

Each lap is 1.03 miles around Cottonwood Lake in Hellyer Park along the asphalt path. The course is relatively flat.

The course isn't lighted and we recommend having a flashlight available at night. 

Pacing is not allowed.

Awards

Awards Ceremonies at Hellyer Park:

24 hour - 9:15 a.m. (Jan 1st)
100 Mile - 1:15 p.m. (Jan 1st)
12 hour - 9:15 p.m. (Dec 31st)
6 hour - 3:15 p.m. (Dec 31st)

Midlayer fleece, or equivalent, will be given to all 24hr and 12hr individual runners (at check-in). Hi-tech tee for the other categories. Award medals are given to the 1st female and male finishers overall and top three finishers in each age group. All participants (except 100-mile runners) will receive a finisher's medal and a custom coaster with their name and distance completed. 24hr runners who complete 60 laps and 97 laps will receive the "100K" and "100+ Miles" belt buckle, respectively. 100-mile runners who complete 100 miles will receive a finisher's medal and a belt buckle. Note: After the start, runners do not have the option to change to another event (i.e., 24 hr, 12 hr, 6 hr, or 100 mi.)  100-mile runners do not qualify for the 100K buckle or custom coaster.

Overall Winners:  The top 3 male and female overall winners of every individual category will win an award and race credits to future Coastal races:

1st Place - $50
2nd Place - $35
3rd Place - $20

Runners who choose to start at the optional times (12noon, 6pm, 9pm), are not eligible for overall awards.

Top three finishers in each age group and gender will receive award medals.

Note: Overall and age group placing are based on Clock Time rather than Chip Time.  As a bona fide competition, runners should start at the same time and compete against each other on the course.  Chip Time is used so runners can see their actual elapsed time.
