The Weld Legacy Foundation along with the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado will host the 27th Annual Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Race, presented by Chevron. The race is open to participants of all ages and abilities and includes a 5K (3.1 miles) Turkey Trot and a 2K (1.2 miles) Gobbler Trek Fun Run/ Walk on a scenic, USATF-certified course.

The CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado provides cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the number one cause of death for men and women in the United States. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.

The Weld Legacy Foundation utilizes proceeds from the Turkey Trot event as individual grants that provide financial assistance to patients of the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs who would otherwise not be able to engage in the rehabilitation program. Participating in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation through the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado helps individuals improve strength and endurance so they may return to their usual activities and life demands as much as possible with renewed confidence.

Schedule:
Turkey Trot 5K at 9:00 AM
Gobbler Trek 2K at 9:15 AM

5k Awards & Prizes
Prize money will be awarded to the top male and female finishers of the 5K
$250 First place
$150 Second place
$50 Third place

Masters (40 and up)
$100 First Place
$50 Second Place

Awards will be given to the top three 5K finishers in the following age group categories: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and up. Age group winners will receive fresh pies donated by local bakeries. Please be present to accept your award, any unclaimed food prizes will be donated to local area agencies.

Attention: 5K winners will be determined on the basis of gun time.

Registration
Race day registrants will be given a bib, but will not be eligible for any awards or be listed in age/gender categories.
Thursday, November 28 - 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.
Pay: $40 per adult, $30 per youth ages 17 & under (cash, check or credit card)
