I had made reservations at Amore 6 weeks ago. It was my birthday. We had 10 people at the table. One one had been to Amore. I know Italian restaurants take longer but I thought I was wait was too long. We got food over an hour and 20 mins after ordering. In their defense the restaurant was busy. The food was good, mostly hot, nice portions. The manager came over after we said we wanted the check without dessert. She was very apologetic, did her best to make it right. But it wouldn't go back
Food was very good, presented beautifully. Atmosphere, not so much. We were seated between the kitchen door and bar, not so good for a romantic anniversary dinner. Our waitress was very friendly, but overcharged us for a "complimentary" glass of wine to celebrate, which ended up as $16 extra on our tab. My husband ordered a 16 oz. Porterhouse steak, which ended up being a very thin (8 oz?) Del Monaco steak. Probably wouldn't come back - very pricey!
Amore is fabulous. Chef Jenna often visits tables to check in on her diners. The wait staff is very knowledgeable. We were able to try several wine samples before deciding on the perfect one. We tried the $25 5-course tasting menu which consisted of an appetizer (We had sausage stuffed mushrooms), salad, a choice of soup (one choice is always lasagna soup), a choice of pasta, risotto or meat (We had a beet and goat cheese risotto and the lamb patties) followed by a small dessert. This is a great way to try several things from the menu. Amore is a great place for a romantic dinner or a big family gathering.
This place is fantastic, the food was out of this world. The owner and chef came to our table, that was very nice. To think she cares that much to make sure everything was up to snuff. The wait staff was on point with everything. I would recommend this place to anyone!!
The appetizer was awesome. My dinner was not bad - it was horrible. The steak was overdone, tough, and drowning in a sauce that should have been drizzled over it. It had zero flavor, even though it was covered in the sauce. The dessert was pretty shocking for a number of reasons. The portion was huge and sloppy. Instead of being dusted over with cocoa powder, it was covered with mini chocolate chips. It looked like a kid made it. It tasted good with the chocolate chips scraped off, but what a waste of time spent making the dessert. There was an unbelievable jazz group playing - high school boys! - that sounded like they were old pro's. Our waitress was super - that's why my husband wouldn't let me tell her any of our concern. Two stars are for her and the awesome music.
