Welcome to the Oktoberfest Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and 5 - K. This event is measured, certified and sanctioned with USA Track and Field. The marathon is a Boston and NYC Marathon Qualifier. Spring Lake's Central Park is the venue for this established, well organized, scenic and family friendly event. Central Park offers a great park setting and play area for children. The park also keeps the finish area, food tent and awards presentation all within 100 feet of each other. All participants will receive a long sleeve "Dri - Fit" tech shirt. All finishers of the full marathon, 1/2 marathon AND 5-K will receive a "Finisher" medal/bottle opener. All finishers of the marathon and 1/2 marathon will also receive a pint glass with the event logo. After you finish, you can enjoy your post-race food and awards while watching friends and family cross the finish line. Packet pick up and late registration will also take place under the tent at Central Park on Friday and Saturday. In addition, all 3 events start in Central Park within 120 yards from the finish. The marathon and 1/2 marathon courses take runners on a scenic loop around Spring Lake. Participants will run primarily on the bike path while also taking a local road through a scenic neighborhood. The 5 - K course will keep runners in the Village of Spring Lake while offering views of Spring Lake. While the marathon and 1/2 marathon offer a few gentle rolling hills, the 5 - K course is flat and fast. In addition to the "Main Event" on Saturday, there is also a 1 mile kid's run on Friday, near the conclusion of packet pick up.

The Oktoberfest event offers the most scenic courses you'll enjoy in Michigan for a marathon and 1/2 marathon. The courses begin at the East end of the Spring Lake Villas Condominiums. You'll run West to Lake Avenue, turn right, run 100 meters and again, turn right onto the bike path. From this point, with the exception of a short run on Judson Rd, you are running exclusively on the bike path which circles counter clockwise around Spring Lake. You'll enjoy many views of Spring Lake and very nice homes. No industrial centers nor run down neighborhoods. While much of the course is flat, you will take on a few rolling hills to keep you honest. The 1/2 marathon and "first" lap of the marathon is the same course. The "second" lap of the marathon takes you a little further down and back on Judson Rd. Please click on the buttons, below, to see the maps and elevations.
